February 11th-14th

Texas weather is crazy and we took advantage of all the snow on February 11th.

I got off work early that evening and all three of us stayed outside until it was dark building our own Frosty.

Who needs snow boots when you have cowgirl boots?

Patton enjoyed every minute of the snow.

Notice how perfect our neighbor's snowman was...

Ours was not so much...

And now what I am about to show you could quite frankly, possibly be the most dysfunctional snowman ever build by two adults and a toddler. Then again in Texas we don't get much practice making Frosties in the winter. Introducing Mardi Gras Frosty:

Yes, it was even scarier in person. In lieu of Fat Tuesday we used some of Jason's Mardi Gras Beads instead of a scarf.

At least it was a healthy snowman. Broccoli eyes, baby carrot nose, and a cherry tomato grill, and some "grill" it was.

It wasn't until that night when our Direct TV decided to go out and we had no televsion. So instead of just taking a chair and dusting off our satellite dish (it is super low on our roof) so that it would work again we just sat there dumbfounded and took pictures.

We woke up on the morning of the 12th with zero electricity. We aren't for sure what time it went out, we just woke up freezing. So after some convincing Jason that I was for certain it would be some hours before we had electricity again, we loaded up and had a 'healthy" breakfast of donuts with Annisha and Rhett.

We spent the evening watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics at Larry and Becky's house and stayed the night at Annisha and Eddie's. Jason, Sydney, and I all slept in Hunter's bed and took over his room that night. He was such a sport about it.

Our electricity finally came back on Saturday around 11 and we were so glad to be back home. We had reservations to go to the Melting Pot that night for Valentines but cancelled. Brianna was still recovering from RSV and Kristine and Brandon were our babysitters plus we were just plain tired. Jason picked up Italian and we all stayed in that night. Sydney played with her babydolls and read them books.

She had to have a babydoll on each pillow.

Valentines day Sydney wore her polka dotted pink Valentine dress to church and later that night we went over to Brandon and Kristine's home for community group with their church.

Instead of flowers this year, Jason had an edible arrangement delivered. It was a bouquet of chocolate covered strawberries. And it was just as delicious as it sounds.
